Service Errors

Extended error codes for the following types of errors are discussed below:



Media Errors

Error Code: 30400

Description: Unsupported audio type

The /media service supports the following media types:

  • mp3, MIME type: “audio/mpeg”
  • ulaw, MIME type: “audio/x-ulaw”
  • wav, MIME type: “audio/wav”

The HTTP error code for this request will be 400.


Error Code: 30401

Description: Unable to process file upload request

The /media service was unable to process your file upload request. The issue is likely due to the multipart/form-data POST being malformed. Please consult the /media service reference topic for help understanding how to construct a multipart/form-data POST. The HTTP error code for this request will be 400.


SMS Errors

Error Code: 30600

Description: The system could not locate the SMS you requested

You attempted to take action on an SMS object that the Phone.com API cannot find (does not exist in your account).


Error Code: 30601

Description: You cannot delete all without the delete_all argument

In order to delete all objects in a collection (for example, all menu items in a menu), you must include the delete_all argument. This is to ensure that you do not delete an entire collection by accident. The delete_all argument must be set to 1 to complete a DELETE operation on a collection. The HTTP error code for this request will be 400.


Error Code: 30602

Description: The from field must reference a Phone.com managed telephone number belonging to your account

You attempted to send (POST) an SMS message from a phone number not associated with your Phone.com account.


Error Code: 30603

Description: Error while processing schedule_start format. Unparsable.

The schedule_start and schedule_expire fields both require that you use valid ISO8601 date formats. You attempted to POST a date that we cannot reliably transform into a date string.


Error Code: 30604

Description: Error while processing schedule_start format. Epoch time detected.

The schedule_start and schedule_expire fields both require that you use valid ISO8601 date formats. You attempted to POST an epoch time value.


Error Code: 30605

Description: Error while processing request. Unknown query arguments.

The Phone.com /sms service only responds to a limited set of query arguments. Please see the SMS reference topic for a complete listing.


Batch Errors

Error Code: 30700

Description: GET and DELETE requests for the /batch service require a resource_id

The Phone.com /batch service only responds to GET and DELETE requests when a resource_id is supplied. Please see the Batch reference topic for a complete listing.
